27th Annual Dr. John Shepard Golf Classic

The 27th Annual Dr. John Shepard Golf Classic is Friday, June 3.

This premier fundraiser for our Northeast Region was renamed for Dr. Shepard last year after his 30-plus years serving as a board member and as the founder of the Golf Classic.
Read more about Dr. Shepard’s passion and why renaming the golf tournament in his honor was more than deserving for his selfless service.

“I was invited to be a board member soon after I returned home from dental school, Shepard said. “It sounded like a good thing to do. I had played in the baseball program at the club when I was 7 or 8 years old. I remembered it was fun and an opportunity for kids. After getting more involved, I soon realized it was not only a great opportunity for kids, it was the only opportunity for many. I also realize that there is a great need in our community. I stay involved because our goal is to reach more kids. This will give more kids opportunities, a chance to learn and do better in school. The club gives these kids a chance to become better citizens, to stay safe and to make a difference in their communities. I serve on the board of the Boys and Girls Club because I think it gives kids a chance to succeed in life when otherwise they may not have that chance.”
