Partnership with Humana addresses multiple youth needs

In partnership with Boys & Girls Clubs of America, leading health and well-being  company, Humana, has provided $10,000 in funding to drive healthy habits for Ruston youth and to provide access to healthy lifestyle information. The funding will support a community garden to be designed, built and maintained by the Boys & Girls Clubs of North Louisiana youth.

Staff and members will activate and follow the Healthy Habits curriculum designed by Boys & Girls Clubs of America to teach young people about the benefits of healthy habits and positive behavior.

Food insecurity affects 11 million children in the United States, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture. It also projects that 18 million children could face hunger this year.

This partnership aims to ensure that all youth – regardless of abilities, gender, age, skill level, household income or prior experiences – are given the same opportunities to take small steps toward positive behavior change.
