BGC Football League concludes first season with Super Bowl Saturday

The Boys & Girls Clubs of North Louisiana capped off its first youth football season with the BGC Football Super Bowl at West Monroe High School on Nov. 13.

Congratulations to our champions - Flag 1 Claiborne/Highland sponsored by Christ Bread, Flag 2 Claiborne West sponsored by TB45 and Tackle Drew/Highland sponsored by Centric.

This big day of competition and fun capped off a very successful league that Boys & Girls Club launched in September, much to the delight of more than 300 parents who signed their children up for the season.

The league was made up of 3 leagues - Flag 1 (5-6 year olds), Flag 2 (7-8 year olds) and Tackle 1 (9-10 year olds) with all teams being school-based.

More than 200 players participated in the 7-week season, which took place each Saturday at the area middle schools. We also had close to 100 cheerleaders that made up 3 squads, one for each division.

The Flag 1 teams were Drew, George Welch, Claiborne/Highland and Kiroli.

Flag 2 was made up of teams from George Welch, Drew East, Claiborne East, George Welch/Kiroli, Drew West and Claiborne West.

Tackle 1 teams were George Welch, Claiborne, Drew/Highland and George Welch/Kiroli.

Thank you to all our players, cheerleaders, coaches, sponsors and parents for making our first year a tremendous success!
