In partnership with Boys & Girls Clubs of America, a leading health and well-being company, Humana, has provided $10,000 in funding to drive healthy habits for North Louisiana youth and provide access to healthy lifestyle information. The funding will support a community garden to be designed, built, and maintained by the Boys & Girls Clubs of North Louisiana youth and activation of Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s Healthy Habits curriculum, designed to teach young people about the benefits of healthy habits and positive behavior. Food insecurity affects 11 million U.S. children, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture and it is projected that 18 million children could face hunger this year. This partnership aims to level the playing by ensuring all youth, regardless of abilities, gender, age, skill level, household income, or prior experiences, are giving the same opportunities to take small steps toward positive behavior change.
