SEND A KID TO CAMP through the Marilyn Huntsman Soignier Scholarship Fund

Marilyn Huntsman Soignier Scholarship : Send A Kid To Camp

The Marilyn Huntsman Soignier Scholarships will be awarded to members who attend the Boys & Girls Club’s afterschool program but cannot afford to attend the Summer Day Camp during the months when school is out.

This is a crucial time for our members. If they are not inside our Clubhouse during the summer, that typically means they are at home alone without access to meals, mentors and a safe place to be around their peers.

About Marilyn:

Marilyn was a founding member of the Board of Directors for the then Boys & Girls Club of West Monroe and served for more than 40 years. She was a moving force behind bringing the first Boys & Girls Club to the state of Louisiana and played a huge role in building the Clubhouse in 1972 that still operates on Evergreen Street in West Monroe.

She took great delight in giving numerous children better futures and opportunities that they otherwise would not have had if they had not entered the doors of the Boys & Girls Club.

Marilyn was energetic and passionate about making a difference in her community, especially when it came to our area youth. It is with this same passion that we want to honor her memory and carry on her legacy.
