Special birthday surprise for D’Rhayven from her BGC family

At the Boys & Girls Clubs, we create a "home away from home" environment for all our members. This was extended to 3rd-grader D'Rhayven Burns when she told our staff about her upcoming birthday. D'Rhayven was not excited about turning 9 years old because her mother had just started a new job and could not give D'Rhayven the birthday party she had in mind.

Of course, the BGC staff took this as an opportunity to show their love for D'Rhayven. Our counselors surprised her with balloons and her dream birthday cake to celebrate her big day with her Boys & Girls Club family - taking a little stress of her mom.
