Former member living out motto that “Great Futures Start Here”

Bruce Rushing, a former Boys & Girls Club member in North Louisiana, considers his time at the Club as the "icing on the cake" to his upbringing.

Now, serving as the Commercial Portfolio Manager at Origin Bank in Ruston, Rushing believes the Club helped him to be more understanding and relateable to others, which is an "integral part in developing relationships". When asked if college was always the future plans for Rushing, he replied, " of course, my Dad got me a job working at a local Heat & Air Conditioning Company, the summer before college to see if that was more my speed. After that summer, I knew college was where I needed to be - attics are no fun in the middle of July!"

Bruces’ favorite thing to do at the Boys & Girls Club was to play basketball with his school friends. His younger brother followed in his footsteps and attended the Club years later.
